[00:00.000] 作曲 : Michael Weiss/Richard Mazzotta/Aaron Weiss/Greg Jehanian
[00:00.000] Through mostly vacant streets
[00:02.993] A baker from the out-skirts of his town
[00:06.287] Earned his living pedaling sweets from a ragged cart he dragged around
[00:11.181] The clever fox crept close behind
[00:14.212] Kept an ever watchful eye
[00:16.254] For a chance to steal a ginger spicecake
[00:19.071] Or a boysenberry pie
[00:26.883] Looking down was the hungry crow:
[00:29.929] "When the time is right, I'll strike
[00:32.004] And condescend to the earth below
[00:34.554] And take whichever treat I'd like"
[00:37.123] The moment the baker turned around
[00:39.646] To shoo the fox off from his cart
[00:42.437] The crow swooped down
[00:43.717] And snatched a shortbread cookie and a German chocolate tart
[00:47.954] Using most unfriendly words
[00:49.996] That the village children had not yet heard
[00:52.775] The baker shouted threats by canzonet to curse the crafty bird
[00:58.116] "You rotten wooden mixing spoon!
[01:00.635] Why, you midnight winged raccoon!
[01:03.460] You better bring those pastries back
[01:05.779] you no good, burnt,-black macaroon!"
[01:18.812] The fox approached the tree
[01:20.528] Where the bird was perched, delighted in his nest
[01:23.602] "Brother Crow, don't you remember me?
[01:26.138] It's your old friend Fox with a humble request
[01:28.944] If you could share just a modest piece
[01:31.511] Seeing as I distracted that awful man"
[01:34.024] This failed to persuade the crow in the least
[01:36.817] So the fox rethought his plan
[01:39.318] "Then if your lovely song would grace my ears
[01:42.116] Or to even to hear you speak
[01:44.646] Would ease my pains and fears!"
[01:46.670] The crow looked down with the candy in his beak
[01:49.745] "Your pearls of wisdom, my good crow
[01:52.484] What a paradise they bring!"
[01:54.757] This flattery pleased the proud bird so
[01:57.861] He opened his mouth and began to sing:
[02:00.159] "Your subtle acclamation's true
[02:02.733] Best to give praise where praise is due
[02:05.514] Every rook and jay in the Corvidae
[02:08.496] Has been Raven about me too
[02:10.792] They admire me, one and all
[02:13.090] Must be the passion in my 'caw'
[02:15.588] My slender bill known through the escadrille
[02:18.638] My fierce commanding claw!"
[02:22.225] (The cookie drops, the fox retrieves it
[02:25.526] There is commotion in the town
[02:28.578] As the baker gives chase
[02:31.387] The crow is humiliated
[02:33.954] Realizes he's been tricked
[02:36.429] Continues his song)
[02:41.536] "Ah, I've got a Walnut-brownie-brain
[02:44.313] And molasses in my veins
[02:47.103] Crushed graham cracker crust
[02:49.416] My powdered sugar funnel cake cocaine
[02:52.229] Let the crescent cookie rise
[02:54.542] These carob-colored almond eyes
[02:57.074] Would rest to see my cashew princess
[02:59.885] In the swirling marble sky
[03:02.742] And we'll rest upon the knee
[03:05.048] Where all divisions cease to be
[03:07.369] A root-beer float, in our banana boat
[03:10.141] Across the tapioca sea
[03:12.950] When letting all attachments go
[03:15.481] Is the only prayer we know
[03:18.548] May it be so, may it be so, may it be so
